Tucked deep into the limestone gorges of the High Atlas foothills, Paradise Valley (Tamraght River Gorge) is famous for its emerald swimming holes, natural rock slides, and lush palm groves. The Driving Route via Route d’Immouzer
From Agadir city center or Taghazout, take the N1 north to Aourir, then turn inland following the scenic Route d’Immouzer (P1001). The asphalt road winds through the dramatic Honey Valley, flanked by argan trees, pink oleander bushes, and traditional Berber stone villages.
The road is fully paved and suitable for all standard rental cars (including economy vehicles like the Dacia Sandero or Renault Clio), though caution is advised on narrow bends.
Parking & The Hike Down to the Pools
Follow the road until you see the marked parking area at the trailhead (parking fee is typically 10 to 20 MAD paid to the local attendant). From the car park, a 20-minute downhill footpath brings you into the heart of the canyon.
What to Bring & Do:
- Footwear: Wear sturdy trainers or water shoes for the rocky path and slippery limestone rocks.
- Swimming: Natural pools are refreshing and clear. Always check pool depth before cliff jumping.
- Berber Cafes: Relax with your feet directly in the cool mountain water while enjoying fresh orange juice and tagine cooked over open coals.
